Recipe - ingredients

  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. dried chilli flakes
  • 1 tin of canned tomatoes
  • 200 g dried spaghetti
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 cans tuna in oil from FISH TALES
  • 1 handful of basil leaves, finely chopped
  • sea salt
  • olive oil

Recipe - how do you make it

Pasta with tinned tuna. Ideal for during the week days – in a rush, or on a budget. For only 2.75 euro, 2.50 pounds or 3 US dollars per portion, this basic tuna pasta makes for a great meal! So simple but so delicious. Enjoy!

 

Recipe - steps

  • 1 Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan and fry the onion and garlic on medium high heat. Add the dried chilli flakes and fry for 3 minutes.
  • 2 Blend the peeled tomatoes with a blender and add this to the frying pan. Bring to a boil and simmer for 7-8 minutes.
  • 3 While the sauce is simmering, prepare the pasta in a big pot with salted boiling water according to the packet instructions.
  • 4 Add 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar and the drained tuna to the sauce and mix well. Season the sauce with salt and fresh basil.
  • 5 Add the cooked pasta to the sauce. Give it a toss and mix well.
  • 6 Serve the pasta with extra basil leaves end enjoy your tuna pasta!
