Recipe - how do you make it

Couscous is coarsely ground durum wheat and originated in Morocco. The durum wheat is crushed until a semolina of about 1 to 2 mm remains. It resembles rice and combines easily with vegetables, meat and even buttermilk. This delicious salad is prepared with delicious sardines and fresh green herbs. The fresh peppers and red onions complete the dish.

Recipe - steps

  • 1 Cook the couscous according to the instructions on the package. Use chicken broth instead of water. Let the couscous cool and loosen it with a fork. Season with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  • 2 Divide the peppers among four plates or bowls and spoon the couscous over them.
  • 3 Now carefully take the sardines out of the can and cut them into small pieces. Spread the sardines over the couscous.
  • 4 Garnish with the red onions, dill, basil, parsley and chives.
  • 5 Finally, drizzle some olive oil over the salad and serve it in a large bowl.
