Spicy Oysters with Sake-Soy Dressing

  • 6 oysters
  • 1 lime, halved
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sake
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ jalapeño pepper, de-seeded, cut into strips
  • Scallion, finely cut into strips

How to prepare

These spicy oysters with sake-soy dressing will make your Valentine’s Day extra spicy! Enjoy them!


  • 1 Open the oysters. Strain the oysters through a fine-mesh strainer and save the oyster liquor. Set aside.
  • 2 Mix the soy sauce with the sake, mirin and 1 tablespoon of the oyster liquid. Divide this over the oysters.
  • 3 Place the spring onion and jalapeño pepper on top of the oysters and drizzle with i sesame oil. Serve the oysters with the lime.
